A. In the working day

Where Abby
comes in.

For actors, directors and crew reading, rehearsing and making notes, whether they have a desk, a tablet or a few minutes between setups.

  1. 01

    Bring in the script

Import a PDF, Final Draft or Fountain file. Abby recognises the scenes and characters and builds an index you can navigate.

  2. 02

    Read it your way

Adjust the reading style, focus on a character’s scenes, search the script and add notes or highlights. Original PDF page references stay alongside the text.

  3. 03

Pick up where you left off

Use iCloud to keep the library, notes and reading position across your devices. Keep revisions together or export an EPUB for an ebook reader.

B. The details

A few things
worth getting right.

01

Readable text. Familiar page numbers.

Text adapts to the screen while page markers keep production references close. PDF markers come from the original document; FDX and Fountain pages are calculated from the screenplay layout.

02

Find the scene that matters

Use the scene index, search or character filters to reach the passage you need. Character colours make a busy page easier to follow.

03

Notes that belong to a version

Annotate and highlight as you read. Keep script versions together and see added or changed text against the preceding revision; PDF comparisons are approximate.

04

Let the script travel

Synchronise through iCloud or export an EPUB. Page references and detected text watermarks can travel with the exported book.
